Ask a Question

Panchak word has come from 'Paanch' (meaning five), which means a period of nearly five days every month during which Moon transits from Kumbha (or Aquarius) & Meen (or Pisces) rashis respectively. According to the so called pandits, during this period breaking wood, travelling in south direction, making roof on house or shops, purchasing furniture etc. is prohibited.

If in somebody's house a person dies during this period then five wooden statues should also be burned alongwith the dead body of that person.
